Despite all odds, I have finally graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Japanese Language and Literature. I am currently working a day job while I study for my JLTP N2 certification, which I hope will open more doors into the world of professional translation. I see this as a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of pursuing a career in the Japanese animation industry. I go by "Tormaid" online, and you can get in touch with me on Twitter, IRC, or in the comments section of this blog.

This site was created originally to document my work in the field of image processing and restoration, but as you can no doubt tell, I have strayed somewhat from that mission due to a lack of time while studying for my degree. I hope to return to those projects soon, but expect posts going forward to also cover topics ranging from color management, to translation, to computer hardware. I'll even write about anime sometimes.
